£250,000 capital grant to transform a derelict garage into a state of the art
Youth Resource Centre with four substantial training rooms.

Derbyshire Learning & Development Consortium:

A multi-dimensional learning programme comprising accredited and informal
training to up-skill local BAME residents.

Derby Community Safety Partnership:

Two leadership programmes specifically targeting Muslim Young people and Muslim
Women to identify potential community activists and role models for the
substantial Muslim Community in our area of benefit.


Range of informal training and bite sized activities (flower arranging,
dress-making, arts and crafts etc.) for multi-cultural BAME Women.

Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales:

Three year action packed project for young people including educational visits,
experiential activities, self-confidence workshops and seminars under the name
‘Leap Further Forward’.

Global Charities/RAM FM:

Focused project (around anti-racism) designed, developed and delivered by young
people of different nationalities

Big Lottery ‘Awards for All’:

Community specific DVD produced by Revival Studios on the activities of JET and
the Community which we have the privilege to serve


Derbyshire Learning & Development Consortium:

Twelve month project to provide employment skills to residents of the deprived
wards of Normanton, Arboretum and Sinfin and a major capital contribution to the
building of the JET Conference Centre.

The Clothworkers’ Foundation:

Major contribution to the refurbishment of JET’s Youth Resource Centre.


Major contribution to the refurbishment of the JET Conference Centre.

The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation:

Prince’s Trust:

Development grants for community projects developed and delivered by
multi-cultural young people.


Grant to develop a merger strategy and a capital support development grant.

Big Lottery BRE Community Energy Sustainable Programme:

Grant to improve insulation throughout the JET Centre and to install Solar
Panels in the JET Conference Centre and in the JET Youth Resource Centre.

Britannia Foundation:

Literacy and numeracy project for multi-cultural BAME women.

Community Development Foundation:

Series of seminars, workshops and visits to better understand other people’s
faiths and cultures

Derby Youth Offending Service:

Leadership programme focusing on teamwork and the identification of key issues
for the young in the deprived inner city wards of Derby


Big Lottery Reaching Communities:

A three year, three dimensional project entitled ‘ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL’.
A major volunteering project around community services through voluntary
organisations, health and exercise and youth mentoring.

Big Lottery – Awards for All:

Twelve month PR Campaign to spread the word about JET’s activities to raise the Charity’s brand identity.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation:

‘SOMEWHERE THERE’S A PLACE FOR US’,a three year ‘speaking and listening
skills’ project for young people often excluded or self-excluded and known to be
at risk.

Equitable Charitable Trust

Three year funding for a BAME Apprentice each and every year to develop
workplace skills and self-confidence.


Repeat programme of informal training for isolated BAME Women in Derby City.

Derbyshire Learning and Development Consortium:

Substantial project around employment focused issues (interview techniques,
workplace behaviour etc.) for deprived communities.


Derby City Council:

Three month concentrated project for young people as part of the Council’s

Jobcentre Plus:

Six month grant entitled ‘IT’S OFF TO WORK WE GO’ to create jobs.

BBC Children in Need:

Community Youth Leadership Programme to identify young leaders of the future and
to bring young people of different ethnicities together.


Employment support related programme for the residents of Normanton, Arboretum
and Sinfin

Metropolitan Housing:

Short, sharp project for local residents who are exclusively clients of Metropolitan


Funding for three Community Organisers to carry out speaking and listening in
the Community and to provide a variety of outreach support services in the
second year in particular.


Global Education:

A partnership project, funded by Big Lottery, in which JET provides an Asian
Community Liaison Officer to work with young Pakistanis.

Locality Community Organisers:

12 month financial support for two Community Organisers in the second year and
funding for a new Cohort of three more Community Organisers.

Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales:

Match funding for 2 Community Organisers progressing into their second year.

Derbyshire Learning and Development Consortium – The Community Learning Fund:

Employment related training for deprived communities under the Community
Learning Fund provided by the Skills Funding Agency.

Big Lottery ‘Awards for All’:

A one year project consisting of 12 illustrated lectures specifically designed
to reinforce ESOL delivery.

Garfield Weston Foundation:

Programme to deliver energy efficiency opportunities and savings opportunities
to local residents.

Energy Best Deal:

Funding for the 2013/2014 delivery of the Energy Best Deal Programme providing
advice to frontline workers and consumers.

Department of Energy and Climate Change:

Sponsored programme of energy advice and recommendations run alongside the
Energy Best Deal Programme.

Henry Smith Charity:

A three year Project to support a new Reception Manager to cope with the massive
increase in JET’s visitors during 2013 as opposed to 2012 (30445 to 19730).

Derby City Council:

2 Awards the first of which is a substancial project to provide employment support to principally Eastern European immigrants as numbers arriving into Derby City increase exponentially. A six month programme for the secondment of Interpreters to assist the Central West Neighbourhood Team.

Community Development Foundation:

A project to encourage local Communities to seize responsibility in terms of local action. The central theme of the project is ‘Waste Management’ and ‘Street Cleanliness’. The programme is managed by Locality.

UK Border Agency:

Substantial 13 month project for accredited and un-accredited ESOL for third
Country Nationals.

The Jobcentre Plus:

An extension of the previous project entitled ‘It’s Off to Work We Go’ with the provision of individually tailered employment skills.

Citizens’ Advice Bureau:

A repeat of the Energy Best Deal Programme providing advice to local residents on how to reduce energy costs and to avoid fuel poverty.

Big Lottery ‘Awards for All’:

A fourth award from Awards for All to refurbish our reception area. The project is called ‘Fixing our fading Frontline’.

Police Commissioner’s Fund:

A one year programme to provide a raft of seminars, workshops and activities for young Asians to widen horizons and raise aspirations.
