Let’s Grow
It had become increasingly clear that in order to progress further there was a need for JET to build capacity into their own BME led community organisation. To do this it was necessary to recruit a worker who could ensure we operate within a uniform quality management framework.
The main purpose of the LSC funding is to enhance JET’s ability to deliver. The key activities of the Quality Officer are:
• Planning for quality and self-assessment within JET to ensure that team members combine activities and look at addressing the wider issues which are faced by the organisation and its service users.
• Managing our quality procedures and processes to take into account the needs of JET and working in collaboration with BME groups to support them in developing those procedures.
• Implementing internal procedures/functions which focus on developing the Board of JET to enhance services and to strengthen the organisation.
• Ensuring (where needed) that our procedures and standards have a clear relationship to those of the external funding agencies with whom we work.
• Supporting groups and developing community members, removing barriers and providing positive opportunities for underrepresented groups.
• Developing good working practice guidelines for staff and volunteers.
• Involving the whole team in a cycle of continuous improvement.
• Compiling ways of ensuring we can get user feedback from individuals who may not respond to the usual ‘feedback forms’
• Conducting comparisons of satisfaction and targets with other capacity building organisations.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of JET’s training and development for staff and organisation.
• Evaluating and monitoring performance in such a way that the analysis can be used for operational and strategic purposes.
