Let’s Develop
JET were awarded their largest grant by Derbyshire LSC in July 2005. This project, which concluded in July 2007, had a number of wide ranging and very clearly specified objectives under the umbrella of helping BME led organisations to develop and to sustain themselves. Those objectives included:
• Recruitment of twelve organisations within the defined geographical territories.
• Production of an item specific action plan.
• Development of training plans for each and every partner organisation.
• Preparation and delivery of workshop and training sessions.
• Development and preparation of business plans and monitoring of financial performance.
• Delivery of basic skills training and key skills support.
• Setting up of network group meetings to review progress and share experience.
In order to meet these challenging targets, it was essential that JET ensured that the company’s policies and procedures were in line with the expectations for the developing local community organisations. This internal health check has improved JET’s administrative capability and overall competence in delivering vital services to the community at large. Quite simply, the LSC support has been more than instrumental in enabling JET to move forward significantly.
