JET has received funding from SEEM to carry out a feasibility study on a significant expansion to the rear of JET’s premises on Normanton Road.  Research is currently being co-ordinated to as certain the specific needs of the Community. Preliminary plans have been drawn up to include (but are not restricted to) the following:

•    Additional classrooms for Education and Training
•    Conference Hall
•    Enlarged I.T suite
•    Training kitchen and accompanying restaurant
•    Business Incubation Units
•    Officers
•    Women’s gym
•    Crèche

Our existing state of the art facilities (two office suites, two substantial meeting rooms, I.T suite) are not large enough. We envisage controlled growth (20% per annum) of our Learndirect activities. There is a strong community demand for skills and training in academic areas, in catering and construction skills such as building and plumbing.

There is a public service demand for an office and Conference centre of quality and for training rooms in the heart of the Community.

We intend to interact with all local businesses to enhance learning and trading skills and to encourage the start of enterprises.

Through this expansion we believe that we shall be able to balance our portfolio of activities to ensure sustainability, enable growth and definitively demonstrate financial stability.
