    Mohammed Sharief - Executive Director

    Sharief has lived in Derby virtually all his life and is very passionate about improving the prosperity of local communities.

    Prior to JET, Sharief worked in the IT industry in the 80’s and within the equalities field in the 90s. He serves on a number of Boards including Derby CVS, Derby City Growth Executive, East Midlands LSC Regional Council and the Development Trusts Association. He has been a School Governor for many years and is actively involved with local schools. He enjoys walking, travelling and meeting people.

    Ejaz Sarwar - Operations Director

    Ejaz has worked for over 10 years within the Voluntary Sector. He has a combined degree in Business Studies, Marketing and Law. He has previously worked for Derby CVS as part of their senior management team and has experience of managing a wide range of community initiatives and training programmes including Government training initiatives and European funded projects.

    His role as the Operations Director within JET entails managing the different range of projects, ensuring the smooth delivery of targets and developing partnerships with key agencies.  Ejaz has a keen interest in learning and development and is Board member of the Derbyshire Learning and Development Consortium.

    Peter Bartlett - Business Development Director

    Peter has worked for forty years in the private sector. His specific area of expertise is in Sales and Marketing and General Management. He has travelled extensively throughout the world and towards the conclusion of his career managed 26 businesses in 8 different countries as a Board Director of a substantial British PLC. He joined us as a volunteer and is now a permanent member of our team.

    Nasmin Hussain - Volunteer Co-Ordinator

    Nasmin has been involved with the Voluntary Sector for over 10 years both as a volunteer and as a staff member. She is currently working as the Volunteer Co-Ordinator. She is a steering group member of Derby Children and Young Peoples Network and is Chair of a self-help group called Apni Sehath (Our Health), a group she set up 5 years ago to promote healthy living for Asian women in Derby.

    Nasmin has an MA in Human Resource Management as well as a BSc in Psychology. She is a qualified trainer with considerable experience of working with the local community and over the last three years has designed and delivered training both in English and Community languages. She is a former Special Constable with Derbyshire Constabulary and has worked as a presenter for a local radio station.

    Adeba Zeenat - Learning and Development Manager

    Adeba is a graduate in Psychology and Sociology. She is a qualified ESOL tutor and has a keen interest in training. With three years experience of working in the Voluntary Sector she has managed a range of LSC and other funded training projects. The focus of these projects has been on engaging adults and young people and helping to develop Literacy and Numeracy skills as well as building on a wide range of skills. She also has experience of delivering accredited and non-accredited training.

    Neelam Sajid - Finance Officer

    Neelam is the Finance Officer and has responsibility for maintaining JET’s financial systems. She has been involved with JET since 2006 as a learner on the Leap Forward Project. In 2009 Neelam undertook voluntary work at JET and successfully secured employment as a Trainee Finance Officer.

    She is also studying for her NVQ Qualification in AAT accounting having successfully completed her foundation year. 

    Neelam is also actively involved in a number of Youth Projects including the Muslim Youth Leadership programme.

    Uzma Hussain - Project Administrator

    Uzma is the Project Administrator for the Raising Aspirations programme, supporting clients into employment and further training. She started as a volunteer at JET after completing a degree in Psychology from the University of Leicester. Uzma’s ambition is to one day qualify as an Educational Psychologist.

    Uzma is also actively involved as a volunteer in community programmes including the Muslim Women’s Leadership Programme and Unite Against Racism.

    Ifat Mahmood - Administrator

    Ifat is a graduate in English, Childhood and Youth Studies. She is currently working as an administrator supporting a wide range of projects. Ifat joined JET as a volunteer and participated in various programmes before joining the staff team in April 2010. She also supports members of the local community in accessing employment and educational opportunities. Ifat is also working towards a level 5 in Project Development through the University of Derby.

    Alisha Jahangir - Administration Apprentice

    Alisha Jahangir is undertaking an apprenticeship at JET in Administration through Acorn Training. Prior to this Alisha has been volunteering at JET since March 2010 whilst studying BTEC Level 2 at Derby College. Having successfully completed her Level 2 she wants to progress through the apprenticeship route and also earn at the same time!
